Brock University's Bachelor of Arts in Business Communication, delivered through the Faculty of Social Sciences, was the first program of its kind in Canada. It combines social-science communication courses, including interpersonal communication, public relations, advertising, and social media, with business courses from the Goodman School of Business, such as management, marketing, and organizational behaviour. Coursework examines how new technology and promotional practices shape consumer and organizational culture, and builds skills in narrative, branding, audience analysis, and emerging media platforms. A fourth-year work-placement course gives students industry experience, and students also take part in an annual case-study competition judged by industry professionals and complete applied projects across their courses. A dedicated public-relations scholarship is available. Students can add a minor in Media Studies or Digital Culture alongside the four-year degree. Graduates are prepared for roles in digital marketing, public relations, advertising, internal communication, and communication strategy and coordination.
