English Language Development Certificate

Admission Requirements: This certificate sets no fixed entry grade. All applicants complete Camosun's ESL/ELD Assessment to establish their level, unless they can show evidence of BC Grade 11 or 12 English, a Canadian Language Benchmarks Placement Test result from the last two years, IELTS Academic from the last two years, TOEFL iBT from the last two years, or an ESL course completed at another BC college, any of which can substitute for the in-house assessment; the college does not publish a minimum IELTS or TOEFL score for this route, only that the result must be recent. Where a letter grade or course level is specified, applicants must hold proof of that grade or higher. The certificate runs four intakes a year: September, January, March and May.
