The Bachelor of Science in Software Systems Development, offered by the Department of Computer Science at the University of Regina and studied through Campion College, focuses on the design and development of large software systems. The 120-credit-hour, 40-course curriculum combines 19 computer science courses with four Electrical Systems Engineering (ENEL) courses, covering programming and problem solving, object-oriented design, data structures and algorithms, digital systems architecture, operating systems, computer networks, database programming, and software engineering methodology, culminating in a software development project. Supporting coursework includes calculus, linear algebra, statistics, general physics, and an introduction to organizational behaviour and entrepreneurship. Electives are drawn from the Arts, La Cite, or Media, Art, and Performance faculties. Graduates are prepared to develop software for large IT departments or to start their own software companies.

Admission Requirements: The Software Systems Development program page does not state admission requirements itself and defers to the Faculty of Science's general requirements. Saskatchewan high school applicants need Saskatchewan Secondary Level standing with English Language Arts 30, Pre-Calculus 30, and two of Biology 30, Calculus 30, Chemistry 30, Computer Science 30, Earth Science 30, or Physics 30; as a Computer Science major, admission requires an 80% average across those five courses, and the Faculty does not offer a Qualifying-year pathway for applicants who fall short. All applicants must meet the university's English language proficiency requirement, satisfied by an IELTS Academic overall band of 6.5 (no band below 6.0), a TOEFL iBT overall score of 4.5 with each of Reading, Listening, Speaking and Writing at least 4, a PTE Academic score of 59 (no area below 59), a Duolingo English Test score of 120, or a CAEL score of 60, unless prior education was completed in English.
