Bachelor of Entrepreneurship (BEnt) is a three-year specialized degree at Carleton University designed for students building small and medium-sized enterprises. The curriculum integrates entrepreneurship with core business skills in finance, marketing, management and technology, and uses project courses that let students apply coursework to real ventures as they progress through the program. The program focuses on venture creation, growth and digital opportunity, preparing graduates to launch, lead and scale ventures within Canada's economy. It is a distinct credential from the Bachelor of Commerce Entrepreneurship specialization and is not eligible for Ontario Student Assistance Program (OSAP) funding. Graduates pursue roles such as consultant, innovation leader, intrapreneur, market researcher, product developer, and startup founder, among other entrepreneurship-related career paths, applying skills built through the program's project-based courses.
Requirements
Admission Requirements: The Bachelor of Entrepreneurship (BEnt) is a compressed three-year experiential degree newly offered through the Sprott School of Business, and Carleton's official per-program admission chart does not yet publish a distinct cut-off or course-prerequisite table for it. Applicants must hold the Ontario Secondary School Diploma (OSSD) or equivalent with six Grade 12 courses at the 4U or 4M level; any prerequisite courses required must be at the 4U level with no individual grade below 60%. Applicants are expected to present a minimum overall percentage grade and prerequisite average, with the specific cut-off determined each year on a program-by-program basis once demand is known; meeting the general minimum only establishes eligibility for consideration. The BEnt is not eligible for OSAP funding.
