Africa and Globalization is an undergraduate program at Carleton University offered within the Bachelor of Global and International Studies (BGInS), available as an Honours specialization (20.0 credits) or a non-Honours stream (15.0 credits). The program is interdisciplinary, covering African history, politics, economics, and culture alongside the global forces of aid, trade, investment, and migration that connect Africa to the rest of the world. Coursework draws on faculty expertise across African history, politics, literature, cinema, legal systems, and economics. Admission Requirements: The Ontario Secondary School Diploma (OSSD) or equivalent including a minimum of six 4U or M courses, which must include a 4U course in English (or anglais); a FIF4U course is also required for applicants to the Specialization in French and Francophone Studies. Direct entry is to the B.G.In.S. (Honours) program; the non-Honours B.G.In.S. has no direct entry. An overall average of at least 70% is normally required to be considered for admission.
