African Studies is offered at Carleton University as a Bachelor of Arts, available in an Honours stream (20.0 credits) or a non-Honours stream (15.0 credits) through the Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences. The program provides interdisciplinary study of African histories, cultures, languages, geographies, politics, and economics, and examines aid, trade, investment, and migration flows linking Africa to the rest of the world. Coursework spans African history, politics, literature, cinema, legal systems, and economics, drawing on continental scope with regional approaches.
