Overview
Littérature, théâtre et création (500.AH) is a two-year pre-university DEC within the Arts, Letters and Communication family of programs, focused on creative expression through literature, theatre, and writing. From the first session, students take part in practical exercises such as stage work, text creation, and voice technique alongside the analysis of literary works, with faculty who are themselves practising theatre professionals and writers. The program gives students access to the college's auditorium for rehearsals and productions, organizes cultural outings to festivals, theatres, and broadcasting facilities, and encourages participation in literary prizes and film competitions. Admission follows standard Quebec collegial entry requirements, with no prior background in theatre or literature required. It suits students who are creative, curious, and imaginative, with an interest in reading, writing, theatre, and cinema. Graduates commonly continue into university programs such as cinema, communication, literary studies, journalism, linguistics, public relations, theatre, law, or teaching.
Requirements
Admission Requirements: Admission follows Cegep de Levis's general college requirements: a Quebec Diploma of Secondary Studies (DES) or Diploma of Vocational Studies (DEP), equivalent training recognized by the college, or sufficient training and experience after at least 24 cumulative months away from full-time study. Applicants admitted on a DEP must also have completed Secondary V language of instruction, Secondary V second language, and Secondary IV mathematics. The Litterature, theatre et creation programme page states no specific subject prerequisite beyond the general conditions, and no audition or portfolio is required for entry. Instruction is in French; the programme does not publish a separate English or French proficiency test score, the DES or DEP itself certifying the language of instruction. No other admission condition is stated on the programme page.
Application Details
Start Date:Fall
Application Deadline:Domestic applicants apply through the Service regional d'admission au collegial de Quebec (SRACQ) in rounds: for Fall 2027 entry the first-round deadline is 1 March 2027 (recommended for contingented programmes), with further rounds on 1 May, 1 June and 1 August, and late registration still possible by appointment afterward; Winter 2027 entry has round deadlines of 1 November 2026, 1 December 2026, 2 January 2027 and 12 January 2027. International applicants apply through the same SRACQ process but the college publishes no fixed international closing date, only post-admission steps such as a 5,000 CAD tuition deposit and a CAQ/study permit process that can take 12 or more weeks. Admission runs through successive rounds rather than a single hard cutoff, so later applicants are still considered while seats remain. These are institution-wide dates; this programme publishes no deadline of its own.
