This program (Techniques d'administration et de gestion, Accounting and Management profile) trains students to manage a business's finances alongside its human and material resources, developing organizational and analytical skills through budgeting, cost analysis, and financial-statement preparation. Learning is applied through real-world projects, entrepreneurial activities, the school's in-house 'entreprise-école,' placements with local businesses, and on-site tax clinics serving real clients, using professional accounting software. The program is delivered in a laptop-based format, and students may supply their own Windows laptop meeting the college's technical specifications. The three-year Diploma of College Studies (DEC) offers a DEC-BAC pathway recognizing up to 12 credits toward a UQAR bachelor's degree, a paid work-study option, and credit recognition for DEP holders. Graduates work as accounting technicians, bookkeeping clerks, accounts-payable or accounts-receivable clerks, payroll officers, assistant financial controllers, or tax technicians.
Requirements
Admission Requirements: Applicants need a DES, a DEP, training judged equivalent by the cégep, or at least 24 cumulative months of interrupted full-time study with sufficient training and experience. DEP holders must also have passed Secondary 5 language of instruction, Secondary 5 second language, and Secondary 4 mathematics. The program itself has no additional specific prerequisites. Students must supply their own laptop meeting the college's technical requirements (Windows 11, Intel Core i5 or i7 processor, 16 GB RAM minimum).
