Overview
Sciences, lettres et arts (DEC 700.A1) is a two-year, four-session pre-university program at Cegep de l'Outaouais on the Gabrielle-Roy campus, described as the only comprehensive multidisciplinary program combining natural sciences (chemistry, physics, biology, mathematics and computing), human sciences (economics, psychology, sociology and history) and arts and letters (literature, languages and the arts). It suits students with broad intellectual curiosity who want to explore multiple disciplines before choosing a university path. Students choose a chemistry/biology or physics orientation starting in the third session and may take a computing course in the fourth session, alongside history, sociology, economics and psychology courses that build interdisciplinary perspective, and at least two arts courses plus French and philosophy that develop creativity and critical thinking. Admission Requirements: This program sets its own competitive academic prerequisites on top of the cégep's general admission conditions: Mathématiques TS/SN 5e secondaire, Physique 5e secondaire and Chimie 5e secondaire, or the older equivalents Mathématiques 536, Physique 534 and Chimie 534. Candidates need a general secondary average of at least 75%, and a result of at least 70% in Mathématiques TS/SN 5e; the college also recommends a final grade of at least 70% in Chimie 5e and Physique 5e, and at least 75% in français 4e et 5e. Beyond this program page's own conditions, the cégep's general admission conditions apply for the DES/DEP pathway and SRAM application process. International candidates outside Canada apply via SRAM for Fall entry only, by 14 March, with a Bright French test average of at least 3.7; those already in Canada on temporary status apply as regular SRAM candidates, Fall or Winter, with a recommended deadline of 1 March (Fall) or 1 November (Winter) and a Bright French average of at least 3.5. A French test is mandatory in every DEC program here, even for francophone-schooled candidates.

Application Deadline:Domestic applicants apply through the Service régional d'admission du Montréal métropolitain (SRAM) at admission.sram.qc.ca: for programmes starting in Fall 2027 the equal-consideration date is 1 March 2027, with later rounds around late April and late May while seats remain; Winter 2027 entry opened 15 September 2026, with an equal-consideration date of 1 November 2026 and a second round on 25 November 2026. Cégep de l'Outaouais accepts international applicants for the Fall intake only: the college's FAQ fixes the international deadline at 14 March of the admission year, i.e. 14 March 2027 for Fall 2027 entry, and it publishes no winter international deadline. Admission is rolling round to round within SRAM's system until each round's seats are filled, but the international date is firm. These are institution-wide dates; this programme publishes no deadline of its own.
