Arts, lettres et communication, option Medias (DEC 500.AJ), is a two-year, four-session pre-university program at Cegep de l'Outaouais on the Felix-Leclerc campus that pairs general education with a cultural foundation for university study in languages, letters, education, communications and the arts. The media option suits students who share a passion for communication in all its forms and outlets, including opportunities to meet media professionals, visit newsrooms and museums, and produce written, audio, audiovisual and photographic reports. Coursework covers photography, art history, written media, audiovisual language, oral communication, critical thinking about culture and media, and media production, along with an introductory foreign language (Spanish or German), building skills in journalistic writing, oral expression, photography and analysis of audiovisual media and image treatment. It leads toward university programs in communication, written and audiovisual journalism, marketing and public relations, cultural programming, media technologies and teaching.
