Program details

Overview

Mechanical Engineering Techniques is a three-year technical diploma (DEC) covering technical drawing along with the manual and automated design and manufacturing of objects and mechanisms, with applications in sports and leisure equipment, telecommunications, energy, and transportation. Students work with current design software and manufacturing machinery, including sheet-metal work in dedicated laboratories, and collaborate with industry partners and technology-transfer centres (CCTT). The programme includes two paid, employer-recognized internships. Graduates receive a Diplome d'etudes collegiales qualifying them to work as mechanical engineering technologists or to continue into related university engineering programmes. The programme runs over three years of full-time study, combining classroom instruction with laboratory and workshop practice that increases in proportion across the three years.
