Nursing is a technical Diploma of College Studies (DEC technique, 180.A0) offered at Cegep de Sainte-Foy over three years, with intake in both the fall and winter terms. The program develops the skills needed to assess a person's health status, establish and carry out a nursing care plan, and deliver appropriate care and treatment to maintain health and prevent illness. Students build personal and professional competencies for working with a range of client groups, from newborns and children through to adolescents, adults, and older adults, across multiple medical specialties. Cegep de Sainte-Foy positions itself as a regional health-training hub in eastern Quebec, offering eight technical health programs alongside Centre S, a clinical-simulation centre built to reproduce hospital environments for hands-on practice. The program suits students who want to work directly with patients across the lifespan and in varied clinical specialties, and who are drawn to a structured, simulation-supported path toward practising as a registered nurse.
Requirements
Admission Requirements: Admission requires meeting Cegep de Sainte-Foy's general CEGEP admission conditions, as published on the college's admission page, plus a science prerequisite: Secondary 4 Science and Technology together with Environmental Science and Technology, or Applied Technical Science together with Environmental Science, or, under the older curriculum, Physical Science 436. Applicants who have not completed Secondary 5 Chemistry may still be admitted but must complete it through two complementary courses offered in the first two sessions, before starting Session 3. Because clinical placements are required, admitted students must meet the vaccination requirements set by the internship sites and undergo a criminal record check before beginning practicums. No French or English language-proficiency test is stated. The program runs starting in both the Fall and Winter terms.
Application Details
Start Date:September and January
Application Deadline:Cegep de Sainte-Foy admits through the regional SRACQ portal (sracq.qc.ca). For domestic (Quebec) applicants, winter 2027 entry closes 1 November 2026 (round 1), 1 December 2026 (round 2) or 1 January 2027 (round 3), while fall 2027 entry closes 1 March, 1 May, 1 June or 1 August 2027 across four rounds, with a further late-admission window for select programmes arranged directly with the college near the start of the fall term. International applicants apply through the same SRACQ system but on a single fixed window for fall 2027 entry: applications open 1 September 2026 and close 1 February 2027, and only a short list of named programmes (including its early-childhood-education DEC) is open to international admission; no separate international winter deadline is published. None of these dates are rolling. These are institution-wide dates; this programme publishes no deadline of its own.
