Overview
Integration into the Nursing Profession (AEC) is an Attestation of College Studies delivered in person, full-time (day and evening), by Cégep de Sherbrooke's Centre de formation continue, over 11 months. The program is designed for nurses trained outside Quebec, helping them secure employment by developing competencies for providing nursing care adapted to Quebec's social and cultural context. Instruction is delivered in person, and clinical placements are arranged in healthcare establishments, with the possibility for students to remain employed at the placement site after completing their studies. The program addresses the practical, regulatory, and cultural adaptation needed for internationally trained nurses to practise within Quebec's healthcare system. The AEC is a workforce-oriented continuing-education credential rather than a diploma of college studies (DEC), and admission is processed through the Centre de formation continue. The next cohort begins in January 2027.
Requirements
Admission Requirements: Applicants must hold a Secondary School Diploma (DES) or equivalent training, and must hold Canadian citizenship, permanent residency, or recognized refugee status. Applicants who did not complete their secondary or postsecondary education in French in Quebec or elsewhere in Canada, or at a French-accredited lycée, must pass a French-language proficiency test. A non-refundable $30 CAD admission and file-analysis fee applies; tuition depends on the applicant's status and was not published as a fixed figure at the time of review.
