Diploma in Civil Engineering Technology is a diploma in Civil Engineering & Construction programme taught at Cégep Limoilou in Québec, Canada. The programme runs for 3 years. Tuition for international students is CAD 19,610 per semester.
Civil Engineering Technology is a technical Diploma of College Studies (DEC technique, 221.B0) offered at Cegep Limoilou. The program introduces students to the structure and building, geotechnics and materials, and roadwork and construction-site branches of civil engineering. Students carry out surveying work and soil and materials analysis, take part in LEED-oriented and decontamination projects, use building information modelling (BIM) tools for design and project management, and learn to inspect and follow up on construction work. The college offers DEC-BAC bridging pathways into Université Laval's civil engineering bachelor's program and, for graduates, into a University of Quebec at Montreal (UQAM) urban planning bachelor's program, letting eligible students carry technical coursework forward into university-level study. The program suits students who prefer hands-on, largely outdoor work connected to construction and public infrastructure, are curious about new construction technologies, and enjoy collaborating in project teams. It leads toward technical roles in construction, infrastructure, and civil-engineering support work, as well as toward further university study for students who complete one of the bridging pathways.
Requirements
Admission Requirements: Civil Engineering Technology (Génie civil, 221.B0) requires Cégep Limoilou's general DEC admission conditions (Quebec DES, or DEP plus Secondary 4 Mathematics, Secondary 5 English and Secondary 5 French, or equivalent training or experience) plus programme-specific prerequisites: Secondary 5 Mathematics TS or SN, together with either Secondary 4 Science and Technology (ST) and Environmental Science and Technology (STE), or Secondary 4 Applied Technical Science (ATS) and Science and Environment (SE). Applicants applying to the Passerelle BAC pathway instead need Secondary 5 Mathematics TS or SN plus Secondary 5 Chemistry. Students under the former curriculum should consult the SRACQ equivalency table. No English or French language test, minimum grade average, portfolio or interview is stated on the programme page.
