Overview
In the Culinary Management program, you'll discover that whether creatively designing a restaurant menu or planning culinary events within large hotel operations, working with food to provide world-class culinary experiences for guests is one of the most rewarding careers. The art of cooking, blended with the skill of team leadership and business entrepreneurship, will ensure that when you graduate from this Culinary Management program, you'll find exciting career opportunities in the fast-paced, ever-changing industry. This field will take you anywhere you want to go. All you need is hard work, drive and passion. With a focus on using local Ontario food products and learning about seasonal cooking, this college diploma program will teach you the necessary skills and knowledge to create exquisite menus and dishes inspired by global food trends and flavours. You'll also graduate with important industry certifications such as Smart Serve, Safe Food Handlers and CPR, making you job-ready. September Start: In the first year of the program, students will enjoy a blend of theory and practical classes for two semesters, followed by a summer break. In the second year they complete their third semester of theory and practical classes, followed by an exciting 14-week work-integrated learning opportunity at Centennial's restaurant and cafe, The Local or with one of the School's reputable partners. May/January Start: Students will enjoy a blend of theory and practical classes for four consecutive semesters with no break between semesters. Either the third or fourth semester will be their Work Integrated Learning semester. The Ocean Wise Program The School of Hospitality, Tourism and Culinary Arts and The Local Cafe and Restaurant use delicious and ocean-friendly Ocean Wise products. Ocean Wise is a conservation and education program that works with chefs, restaurants and seafood suppliers to help them with sustainable seafood sourcing. Feast On® Certification Centennial College's School of Hospitality, Tourism and Culinary Arts has become the first academic institution to receive Feast On® certification for its sourcing of local food and beverage products used in academic programs as well as experiential-learning foodservice operations. The Culinary Tourism Alliance established Feast On as a certification program that recognizes businesses committed to sourcing Ontario- grown and -produced food and drink.
Requirements
Admission Requirements: Entry requires an Ontario Secondary School Diploma or equivalent, or mature-student status at 19 or older, together with Grade 12 English at the C or U level (or equivalent); applicants without that course may instead pass the Centennial English Admission Test. International and other non-OSSD applicants meet Centennial's institution-wide English Language Proficiency standard for diploma and certificate programmes: IELTS Academic 6.0 overall with no band below 5.5, TOEFL iBT 67 (minimum 16 Reading, 23 Writing), PTE Academic 51 or higher, CAEL 60, or Duolingo 105-114. No portfolio, interview, or work-experience requirement is listed on the programme page. The programme admits in September, January, and May for both domestic and international applicants.

Application Deadline:Centennial publishes no application deadline for this program; what follows is the Ontario college cycle that governs it. Domestic applicants apply through ontariocolleges.ca: for a program starting in Fall 2027 the equal-consideration date is 1 February 2027, and applications arriving after it are still assessed, but first-come first-served while places remain. Across the Ontario college system the application opened on 26 September 2026, offers may be issued from 1 November 2026, and an offer must be accepted by 1 May 2027. One $150 fee covers up to five program choices. International applicants apply directly to Centennial through its own international application process and are assessed on a rolling basis across the Fall, Winter and Summer intakes; the college publishes no fixed international closing date. These are institution-wide dates; this programme publishes no deadline of its own.
