Sciences de la nature: Sciences de la sante et de la vie (200.BA) is a pre-university DEC at College Ahuntsic, one of two profiles within the Sciences de la nature program. The page states that students work in laboratories comparable to university research facilities and take part in Passeport sciences enrichment activities. The profile is designed to prepare students for university study in fields such as medicine, pharmacy, and neuroscience, while also meeting the prerequisites for programs that do not require the health/life-science admission route, including biochemistry, biology, biotechnology, chemistry, chiropractic, dietetics and nutrition, ecology and environment, teaching, occupational therapy, engineering, kinesiology, veterinary medicine, microbiology and immunology, and neuroscience. To ease the transition from secondary school, the first session includes three science courses rather than four. Entry requires Secondary 5 mathematics, physics, and chemistry prerequisites; the two Sciences de la nature profiles share 450 available places and admit for both the Fall and Winter sessions.
Requirements
Admission Requirements: The program's own page sets one prerequisite: Secondary 5 SN or TS mathematics (or Mathematiques 536), Secondary 5 physics (or Physique 534), and Secondary 5 chemistry (or Chimie 534). Beyond this, admission follows the College's general regulation R-11: a Diplome d'etudes secondaires covering it, or an equivalent Diplome d'etudes professionnelles with the required upgrading courses, plus eligible citizenship or immigration status. Applicants whose Secondary 5 language of instruction was not French must pass the College's own French-language test. Admission is offered for both the Fall and Winter sessions, per SRAM's calendar. Admission is processed through SRAM.
