Admission Requirements: DOMESTIC APPLICANTS How to apply. Every DEC application goes through the Service régional d'admission du Montréal métropolitain (SRAM) at admission.sram.qc.ca - the College itself makes the admission decision. SRAM's shared calendar (used across its member cégeps) sets 1 March as the Round 1 deadline for a Fall start. Academic basis. Under the College's own admission regulation (R-11), you qualify with: a Diplôme d'études secondaires (DES); a Diplôme d'études professionnelles (DEP) plus passes in 5th-secondary language of instruction, 5th-secondary second language and 4th-secondary mathematics; training the College judges equivalent; or training and experience the College judges sufficient after at least 24 cumulative months outside full-time study. Every route also requires Canadian citizenship, permanent-resident status, a student visa or a ministerial authorization, plus - where they apply - the Ministry's own subject prerequisites for that program and any College-set condition: a French-language test administered by the College itself when your 5th-secondary language of instruction was not French, required upgrading courses ahead of program courses that need them, or a passing result on a program's own test, interview or exam. An applicant short by up to six DES/DEP credits can be admitted conditionally into the Tremplin DEC pathway while finishing them. Selection. Where a program has more qualified applicants than seats, the College ranks four candidate groups - straight from secondary school, already in cégep, already at university, or returning after interrupting studies for at least one school year or two regular sessions without ever having pursued postsecondary studies - separately, weighing secondary-school results, prerequisite-course results, post-secondary results and relevant experience; some programs add geographic origin, an aptitude test, interview, exam, portfolio, or equity-access criteria. A refused applicant can ask the Direction des études for a review. INTERNATIONAL APPLICANTS Scope. Ahuntsic does not open every program to international students. Its own international-admission page currently names: Techniques de laboratoire (Biotechnologies; Chimie analytique), Technologie de radio-oncologie, Techniques d'électrophysiologie médicale, Technologie de médecine nucléaire, Technologie du génie civil, Technologie de la mécanique du bâtiment, Technologie de la géomatique, Technologie du génie industriel, Techniques d'administration et de gestion (gestion comptable et financière), and Arts, lettres et communication (Cinéma; Études littéraires) - confirm the current list before applying, since it can change. How to apply. International applications also go through SRAM's international admission stream; SRAM's own guide covers schooling-equivalency rules, fees and visa links. Language. Ahuntsic's own international page does not publish a minimum language-test score of its own. Costs and documents. You need a CAQ (Certificat d'acceptation du Québec) and a Canadian study permit, plus insurance the College offers international students at roughly $1,380/year (subject to change) - unless you hold French citizenship, in which case the France-Québec agreement gives access to Quebec's public health-insurance card instead. Approximate 2026 tuition per session (two sessions/year): $7,354 for pre-university programs and human techniques, $9,519 for physical techniques and arts/letters techniques, $11,398 for biological techniques.
