Aircraft Structures Technician Certificate

This certificate trains students in aircraft structure construction, repair and maintenance, covering sheet metal, composites and fabric materials alongside structural assessment and corrosion control. Training takes place at Portage College's Aerospace Campus at the Cold Lake Regional Airport, giving students hands-on experience in an authentic aviation environment. The programme has Transport Canada approval, supporting graduates' pursuit of Aircraft Maintenance Engineer (AME-S) certification. Applicants must meet provincial high school equivalencies, and the college's equivalency chart sets out accepted alternatives. The programme runs across Fall, Winter and Spring terms, delivered in-person, with a single Fall intake and an application deadline of August 15. It is open to both domestic and international applicants, with tuition and mandatory fees billed by term across the three terms of the programme, and combines classroom instruction with hands-on shop work on real aircraft components.
