Comptabilité et finance is a technical option within Collège de Maisonneuve's Administration et gestion diploma programme (410.G0), leading to a Diplôme d'études collégiales (DEC) over six full-time sessions (three years). The programme develops competencies in financial accounting, budgeting, financial analysis, and business administration, training students to prepare and interpret financial statements, budgets, and financial analyses for organizations. Roughly half of specific training takes place in laboratory settings and workplace internships, including a tax clinic, an audit simulation, and a stock-trading simulation. Students complete a common first session shared with other Administration et gestion options before specializing, with the option to switch profiles at session two. A paid, credited work-study internship begins in the first year, with four to eight months of workplace experience over the programme, and an optional study exchange in France is available. Classes run Monday to Friday between 8 a.m. and 6 p.m. on campus. Graduates find employment as accounting technicians, tax agents, or account managers, or continue into university programs in accounting, finance, or business management.
