Overview

Techniques de l'informatique - Développement d'applications Web et mobiles is a technical DEC at Collège de Rosemont, lasting three years for fall admission or three and a half years (seven sessions) for winter admission. The program begins with a one-year common core shared with the Réseautique profile, covering foundational network-management skills alongside specialization coursework, before students focus on building web and mobile applications for businesses and clients. Students program in multiple languages using Progression, a feedback platform developed in-house by a Cégep de Rosemont teacher, and work with partners such as Microsoft, Amazon Web Services, and Google. Agile project-management methods used in the tech industry are practised throughout the program, preparing students for a final-session work placement (stage) completed in industry, in Quebec or abroad. Alongside technical skills, the program develops workplace-relevant soft skills such as collaboration, teamwork, versatility, and autonomy. DEC-BAC agreements with Quebec universities recognize program courses toward university credit in computing-related fields. Admission requires a secondary diploma with a Secondary 4 mathematics prerequisite, and DEP-DEC pathways offer course recognition for holders of a vocational diploma in IT support. It suits students aiming for careers as programmers, programmer-analysts, or IT consultants.

Requirements

Admission Requirements: Admission requires a Quebec secondary school diploma (DES) or vocational diploma (DEP) and satisfying the general conditions of the Régime des études collégiales, per the programme's own admission page and the college's matching institution-wide baseline. This Computer Science Technology programme (Web and Mobile Application Development profile) additionally names one prerequisite: Mathematics (SN 4e, TS 4e, CST 5e, or MATH 436). No English or French language-proficiency test score is published; the page sets no language condition beyond the DES/DEP itself. The programme may admit international applicants, per the college's International Students page. Holders of a vocational diploma (DEP) in Computer Support may receive course credit through the college's DEP-DEC pathway. It is non-quota, with about 200 Fall places; students admitted in Winter follow a seven-session path to the DEC instead of the usual six.
