Overview
Acupuncture is a three-year technical DEC offered by Collège de Rosemont, the only Quebec cégep to have taught the program since 1986; a second teaching site operates in partnership with Cégep de La Pocatière at its Montmagny campus, both leading to a diploma issued by Collège de Rosemont. Training blends acupuncture techniques rooted in traditional East Asian medicine with Western biology, human physiology, and pathology, covering the stages of patient care from evaluation through treatment planning, administration, and follow-up. Students practise needle insertion, heat application, laser, cupping, and electrostimulation techniques, in a program aligned with Quebec's regulatory framework for acupuncture under the Ordre des acupuncteurs du Québec. Clinical placements (stages) take place in community, hospital, and residential-care settings with varied patient populations, and students also treat patients at the college's on-site teaching clinic under instructor supervision, as well as through the TACT clinic offering free auricular-acupuncture treatments to the college community. Admission requires a secondary school or vocational diploma plus a physics prerequisite, and the program is generally selective, using academic record and a personality-based assessment for placement. It suits students seeking a licensed, hands-on health career combining traditional and biomedical knowledge.

Admission Requirements: Acupuncture (DEC), 3 ans à temps plein recommandé. Préalable exigé: Sciences physiques 436, ou Science et technologie de l'environnement (STE) de 4e secondaire, ou Sciences et environnement (SE) de 4e secondaire — obligatoire quel que soit le niveau d'études déjà atteint, y compris universitaire. 75 places à la session d'automne; aucune nouvelle admission à la session d'hiver. Le programme est aussi offert au Cégep de La Pocatière (campus de Montmagny), où l'admission se fait par le SRACQ (Service régional d'admission au collégial de Québec) avec les mêmes préalables et critères. Au Cégep de Rosemont, l'admission se fait par le SRAM. Étudiants internationaux: ce programme n'admet pas d'élèves sans droit de séjour au Canada.

Because of Quebec's international quota, Collège de Rosemont opened only seven programmes to international students for 2026-2027 — Techniques de l'informatique, Techniques d'administration et de gestion, Techniques de recherche et de gestion de données, Techniques d'aménagement et d'urbanisme, Arts lettres et communication, Sciences humaines, and Histoire et civilisation. Admission is not rolling beyond SRAM's rounds. These are institution-wide dates; this programme publishes no deadline of its own.
