Program details

Overview

Sciences de la nature is a two-year pre-university DEC at Collège de Rosemont preparing students for university programs in health, science, and engineering. The curriculum builds skills in chemistry, physics, biology, mathematics, and computer science, with flexibility to choose courses aligned with an evolving university goal as students progress through the program; some courses are co-taught by two instructors from different disciplines to help students connect concepts across subjects and strengthen problem-solving. Academic and career-guidance counsellors run in-class activities each session to help students define their university objectives and confirm their professional direction. A weekly scheduled period called Midi-sciences supports team projects, workshops, and conferences, and gives direct access to teaching staff for questions, alongside peer tutoring and mentoring, a science and mathematics help centre, review sessions, and a bank of practice exams. A gamified engagement system, Sciences et dragons, rewards participation in scientific activities such as talks, contests, and outings. Admission requires a secondary diploma with mathematics, chemistry, and physics prerequisites. It suits students aiming for university studies in fields such as medicine, engineering, biology, or related science and health disciplines; the college reports a 94% university-admission rate for the program.
