The Hairstylist program trains students in cutting, trimming, coloring, waving, and styling hair to suit a client's face shape and lifestyle, along with shaving and shaping beards and moustaches. Students learn to recommend hairstyles, treatments, and hair-care products, and to maintain salon tools, supplies, and equipment. The program is a Red Seal trade, allowing graduates to pursue interprovincial certification after completing required apprenticeship hours. It runs full-time over 37 weeks and leads to a Certificate. Delivery is on-campus, offered at the Bay St. George and Gander campuses. Admission requires high school graduation, an Adult Basic Education Level III General College Profile, a Trades Bridging Certificate, a College Transition Certificate, or qualification as a mature student. International applicants must meet the college's English language proficiency requirements.
