Overview

This certificate gives students a degree of autonomy over course selection, requiring a set number of environment-focused courses alongside options from subjects such as geography, geology, anthropology and sociology. Most teaching happens in the classroom, though a number of courses are also offered online. Completion can support entry-level employment or further, more specialized education, with transfer agreements in place with a number of Canadian universities.

Requirements

Admission Requirements: The Environmental Studies Certificate requires a minimum grade of C+ (65%) in one of English Studies 12, English First Peoples 12, or Provincial English (Literature-based). The calendar entry states no international-student language-test score for this certificate; applicants whose first language is not English are subject to College of the Rockies' general English proficiency requirement described on the institution's admissions pages.
