The Certificate in Climate Solutions and Sustainable Energy is offered by York University's Faculty of Environmental & Urban Change. It provides applied training in energy efficiency, renewable and distributed energy resources, and community energy and climate change planning, spanning the policy, economic, scientific, technical, legal and managerial dimensions of the climate crisis and sustainable energy solutions. The certificate totals 24 credits and can be completed over 2 to 3 years of study on a full-time or part-time basis. It is open to direct-entry applicants who hold an undergraduate degree in a related field, to individuals without an undergraduate degree who have relevant work experience, and to current York students who may register after completing 24 credits at the University. Applications are accepted for Fall (September) entry.

Admission Requirements: Open to applicants who have completed an undergraduate degree in a related field from an accredited institution, admissible with a cumulative grade point average of 5.00/9.00 (C+); individuals without an undergraduate degree but with relevant work experience may also apply. Current York University students may register in the certificate after completing 24 credits at York with a cumulative GPA of 5.00/9.00 (C+).
