Overview
The Recreation Management Diploma covers a broad range of courses directly related to the recreation industry, as well as management-oriented courses such as: accounting, communications, business management, programming, and marketing. Fondational courses are augmented with industry specific coursess and a work placement provides opportunity to gain hands-on-experience in recreation. It is recommended that domestic students take the co-op work term, while our international students complete the work practicum.
Requirements
Admission Requirements: Admission to College of the Rockies' Recreation Management Diploma requires secondary-school graduation or equivalent and a grade of at least C+ (65%) in one of English Studies 12, English First Peoples 12 or ENGL090. A recommended (not mandatory) admission requirement is a grade of at least C (60%) in one of MATH080, Pre-Calculus 11, Foundations of Mathematics 11, Computer Science 11, Computer Science 12, Foundations of Mathematics 12, Pre-Calculus 12, Geometry 12, Statistics 12 or Calculus 12. Basic computer skills are recommended. A non-academic condition applies once students reach RECR231: CPR-C and Occupational First Aid Level 1 certification are required before the work placement. The program page publishes no language test scores; applicants whose first language is not English are subject to College of the Rockies' general English-proficiency requirement — TOEFL iBT 80, IELTS Academic 6.0, CAEL-CE 60 or PTE Academic 56 — per the college's own admission requirements.
