Overview

The Sustainable Business Practices diploma can provide the knowledge you need to prepare for sustainability initiatives in modern businesses and tourism enterprises companies. This program is aimed at those who have a degree in a non-business field and aims to help you develop a strong foundation of business knowledge and provide you with the skills you need to thrive in the ‘green’ economy. Your courses selection will include economics, accounting, marketing, and business management along with courses focusing on sustainability.

Requirements

Admission Requirements: The Sustainable Business Practices Post-Degree Diploma requires a completed degree other than Business, Commerce, Finance or Tourism from a recognized university or college, or permission of the Dean; applicants with a business-related degree from another country may enter to retake introductory business courses in a Canadian context but receive no transfer credit or flexible assessment except for ENGL100. Applicants also need a grade of at least C (60%) in one of Foundations of Mathematics 11, Pre-Calculus 11, Computer Science 11, Foundations of Mathematics 12, Pre-Calculus 12, Computer Science 12, Geometry 12 or Statistics 12. The program's own outline states its own English-language threshold for applicants whose first language is not English: an IELTS Academic score of at least 6.0 in every band and 6.5 overall.

Start Date: September and January

Application Deadline: Domestic and international applicants to College of the Rockies both apply through EducationPlannerBC. For the 2027-28 academic year the general application window opens 1 November 2026, and applications received by 28 February 2027 get priority processing for Fall 2027 entry; admission is otherwise rolling with no fixed closing date. International applicants get a decision about two weeks after a complete application, with no separate published international deadline. The Bachelor of Science in Nursing is competitive-entry: its window runs 1 November 2026 to 15 February 2027, with final transcripts due 28 February 2027 for Fall 2027 admission. These are institution-wide dates; this programme publishes no deadline of its own.
