Overview
This Bachelor of Arts in Child Studies combines classroom theory with fieldwork to prepare students to foster the physical, emotional, psychological, cognitive, and academic development of preschool and school-age children, and to understand children's roles within families, communities, and cultural contexts. The 45-credit program includes 24 compulsory foundation credits plus specialization clusters in Early Childhood Settings and/or Exceptionality and Diversity in Childhood Settings, along with additional education credits, combined with experiential practice and field placements. Full-time study takes three years (90 credits) for Quebec CEGEP graduates or four years (120 credits) for international and non-Quebec students, with admission in the Fall or Winter term.
