Overview
The Mathematics and Statistics program leads to a Master of Arts (MA) or Master of Science (MSc) and covers advanced topics in the mathematical sciences, including pure and applied mathematics and statistics. Students choose between two program options: Option A combines coursework with a 27-credit thesis, while Option B replaces the thesis with five sequential project courses worth 15 credits. Both options total 45 credits and are completed over two years of full-time study. The program covers areas such as analysis, algebra, differential equations, probability, and statistical methods, preparing graduates for research careers, doctoral studies, or applied roles in industry and government. Courses are delivered at the Sir George Williams campus. Admission requires a bachelor's degree with honours in mathematics, statistics, or an equivalent field. The program admits students in the Fall term.
