Overview

The Graduate Diploma in Communication Studies is a one-year, 30-credit program for students holding a bachelor's degree in a field other than communication who want a fast-track introduction to the discipline. Delivered on Concordia's Loyola campus, the program covers core communication theory alongside hands-on production work in video, intermedia and sound, using the university's film and video editing suites, intermedia labs and sound recording studios. Admission is open to applicants with a bachelor's degree or equivalent with high standing; students whose first language is not English must demonstrate sufficient English proficiency for graduate study. The program admits students in the Fall term only. On completion, graduates receive a Graduate Diploma and gain a working foundation in modern media production and communication theory that can support further studies or entry into media-related careers.
