Cert in General Arts and Science - English Language Studies

General Arts and Science - English Language Studies (ELS) is a one-year Ontario College Certificate program focused on academic English skills needed to pursue further post-secondary study in Ontario. The program is organized into two levels, each completed over a 15-week term, with placement determined by results on the Conestoga English Language Assessment and Placement (CELAP) test or another approved language test. Students develop reading, writing, listening, and speaking skills, with particular emphasis on pronunciation, alongside credit-based courses on Canadian culture and preparation for higher education. The program is intended for students who need to strengthen their English proficiency before progressing into other Conestoga certificate, diploma, or degree programs.
