Cert in Power Engineering Techniques - 3rd Class

Power Engineering Techniques - 3rd Class is a one-year, three-term Ontario College Certificate program that builds on the 4th class level to expand students' knowledge of power plant operation and maintenance. Students learn the safe and efficient operation and maintenance of industrial boilers, refrigeration systems, prime movers, and auxiliary equipment used for heating, cooling, and power applications. Instruction follows the Standardized Power Engineers Examination Committee (SOPEEC) syllabus and prepares students for Technical Standards and Safety Authority (TSSA) 3rd class certification exams. The program combines classroom theory with practical training on power engineering systems and equipment. Graduates are prepared to pursue TSSA 3rd class certification and to work in power plant operation, building operations, and industrial facility maintenance roles.
