Sustainable Waste Management is a one-year Ontario College Graduate Certificate delivered in a hybrid format at Conestoga's Cambridge - Fountain Street campus, with an optional co-op stream. The program builds industry-relevant skills in reducing and managing waste across industrial, municipal and organizational settings, addressing global environmental targets and the shift toward a circular economy. Students learn to assess diversion rates for solid and organic waste, evaluate and introduce waste-reduction technologies, and develop informed solutions to real-world waste-management problems. Learning is applied through research projects and partnerships with community and industry organizations. The optional co-op term, offered only in this program within Ontario, provides paid, field-related work experience. Graduates are prepared for roles supporting waste diversion, environmental compliance and sustainability initiatives in industrial, municipal and organizational settings.
