Overview
This graduate diploma (DESS) in Management of Complex Public-Interest Systems and Projects is offered jointly by Polytechnique Montreal and the Ecole nationale d'administration publique (ENAP). It is designed for managers, engineers, experts, and professionals responsible for the sound governance of complex projects and systems of public interest, where multiple stakeholders pursue complementary and sometimes conflicting goals and where economic, political, and social stakes intersect. The curriculum develops candidates' understanding of the logic behind political and management decisions, sound decision-making, risk management, and the selection of institutional arrangements that integrate civil-society stakeholders throughout a project's life cycle. Coursework totals 30 credits: 12 credits of mandatory courses, 12 credits of optional courses (two per partner institution), and 6 credits of elective courses. Because it is a joint diploma, each institution admits students and grants its own degree according to its own regulations. The program leads to the Diplome d'etudes superieures specialisees (DESS).
