Greenhouse/Nursery/Garden CentreAssist with greenhouse and nursery operations related to care and maintenance of trees, shrubs, annuals, perennials. Retail and wholesale ordering and sales.Property Maintenance Maintain lawn and garden landscapes by operating push and riding mowers, trimmers and blowers, mulching, planting, etc.Landscape Construction Assist with the design, installation and maintenance of high-end residential projects including natural stone work, deck and wood construction, landscape plantings, concrete & interlocking paver work, and tree planting. Operate compact equipment: skid steers, mini-excavators, loaders, tractors, and trucks/trailers.Arboriculture & Tree Health CareTrim, prune and maintain trees in various stages of life. Operate chainsaws, chippers, mini loaders. Plant health care including deep root fertilization and pesticide applications. Requirements
Admission Requirements: Admission to the Horticulture Technician (Co-op) diploma requires an Ontario Secondary School Diploma or equivalent, or mature-applicant standing; applicants without a high-school diploma may instead complete Fanshawe's Academic and Career Entrance (ACE) Grade 12 equivalency certificate. Applicants whose first language is not English must meet Fanshawe's proficiency standard: IELTS Academic overall 6.0 with no band under 5.5, TOEFL iBT overall 4.5 with no band under 4 (79 on the pre-2026 TOEFL scale), PTE Academic 53 with no band under 45, or Duolingo 105 with no section under 95 (CAEL, Cambridge English and LanguageCert Academic equivalents also accepted). Students moving into the program's second year must hold a valid Ontario G1, G2 or G driver's licence and must notify the Program Coordinator immediately if it is suspended. Where the program is oversubscribed, Fanshawe gives priority to applications received by February 1st and reviews the remainder on a first-come, first-served basis thereafter.

International applicants apply directly to Fanshawe (CAD 100 fee) and face fixed document deadlines rather than a single closing date: for the current intakes, study-permit and conditions-met documents are due 10/15 August 2026 (Fall), 9/15 December 2026 (Winter) and 5/15 April 2027 (Summer); missing a deadline can mean deferral to the next intake. These are institution-wide dates; this programme publishes no deadline of its own.
