Requirements
Admission Requirements: Admission to the Journalism – Multimedia diploma requires an Ontario Secondary School Diploma or equivalent, including Grade 12 English at the College (C) or University (U) level; mature applicants may qualify with equivalent credentials, and those missing the English requirement can pursue academic upgrading for a conditional offer or complete Fanshawe's Pre-Media Preparatory program first. Applicants whose first language is not English must meet Fanshawe's proficiency standard: IELTS Academic overall 6.0 with no band under 5.5, TOEFL iBT overall 4.5 with no band under 4 (79 on the pre-2026 TOEFL scale), PTE Academic 53 with no band under 45, or Duolingo 105 with no section under 95 (CAEL and Cambridge English equivalents also accepted).
