Overview

The programme gives students the grounding needed to work as a certified dental assistant at Levels I and II. Students build clinical experience alongside technical knowledge and practical skill, learning to carry out this work in an ethical, collaborative and professional way within dental practice.

Requirements

Admission Requirements: Ontario Secondary School Diploma or equivalent with Grade 12 English (C or U), Grade 11 Mathematics (M or U) or Grade 12 Mathematics (C or U), and Grade 11 Biology (C or U) or Grade 12 Biology (U), each at 60 per cent or better. Mature applicants aged 19 or over without an OSSD may take the Admissions Assessment in English, mathematics or science, or upgrade to earn the credits. Domestic applicants submitting international transcripts need a Canadian equivalency evaluation from ICAS or WES; international applicants should check the requirements published for their country and credential level. Meeting the minimum does not guarantee admission and higher grades may be required. After confirming acceptance, students must complete the clinical pre-placement health package, which takes 10 to 12 weeks.
