The Women in Fashion Technology program is a three-semester, part-time certificate from George Brown College that trains students as machine operators in digital fashion technology, covering knitting, embroidery, dye sublimation, and laser cutting. Classes are held at George Brown's Fashion Exchange hub at 63 Regent Park Blvd., a production facility used by local designers and fashion producers, giving students exposure to day-to-day apparel manufacturing and industry networking. The program includes a 280-hour work-integrated field placement and prepares graduates for machine-operator roles across sectors such as apparel and sportswear, home textiles and furnishings, art and design, signage and graphic materials, premium incentive branding, and retail personalization services. Admission is restricted to female-identifying applicants, with a selection process that includes an online application, pre-screening, interview, computer assessment, and English assessment. The program starts each September and leads to a George Brown College Certificate.
