Requirements
Admission Requirements: Open to domestic applicants only. Entry requires a Registered Practical Nurse Certificate of Competence from the College of Nurses of Ontario with no practice restrictions, a Heart and Stroke Foundation BCLS certificate at Health Care Provider level, and a current resume; one year of medical-surgical experience is recommended but not required. Both independent and sponsored applicants are accepted. Independent students pay their own application and tuition fees, are not employed by a clinical agency, are placed at an affiliate hospital by the program co-ordinator, and must complete the pre-placement health requirements and Vulnerable Sector Check on acceptance. Sponsored students are hired by a clinical agency before applying, may or may not have fees covered under that contract, and complete the placement at their employing hospital.
