Requirements
Admission Requirements: Open to domestic applicants only, and only to sponsored applicants - places are not available to independent applicants, and the nursing department should be contacted about sponsorship. Entry requires registration as a Registered Nurse holding a Certificate of Competence from the College of Nurses of Ontario with no practice restrictions, a Heart and Stroke Foundation BCLS certificate at Health Care Provider level, and one year of acute care nursing experience in Ontario. After acceptance, students complete the clinical pre-placement health package, which takes about eight to 10 weeks and covers immunisation records (Tdap, COVID-19, MMR, varicella, hepatitis B titres and a two-step TB skin test), a clear Vulnerable Sector Check renewed each year, an annual flu shot and mask fit testing. Clinical partners continue to require full COVID-19 vaccination for placement, and an agency may decline an unvaccinated student.
