Overview
Graduates are primarily prepared for a career as a gas technician. Employment may also be found in the areas of technical support and sales within the industry. There are also a number of apprenticeships that graduates may pursue in areas such as sheet metal, refrigeration, plumbing, and pipe fitting. For those who want to work in these trades, an apprenticeship is required after graduation. By the end of the program students are eligible to write their TSSA Gas Technician 3 (G.3) and Gas Technician 2 (G.2) exams in order to become fully qualified and licensed technicians.
Requirements
Admission Requirements: This part-time Gas Technician certificate defers to Georgian's full-time Gas Technician admission requirements page. Entry requires an Ontario Secondary School Diploma (OSSD) or equivalent, or mature student status, plus Grade 12 English at the C or U level; mature applicants aged 19 or older without an OSSD may qualify through completed upgrading, GED equivalency, or equivalency testing. Neither page publishes a programme-specific language-test table, so applicants whose first language is not English fall under Georgian's general certificate-level requirement: IELTS Academic 6.0 overall or TOEFL iBT 79 overall, or completion of Georgian's own GAAS English for Academic Purposes pathway. No portfolio, interview or other special admission condition is stated. The programme separately requires the TSSA Gas Technician 3 exam be passed before the co-op work term begins, which is a progression rather than an admission requirement.

Programs outside the highly competitive list carry no equal-consideration date and are assessed on a rolling basis year-round. International applicants apply directly through Georgian's own portal with no published closing date and are assessed on a rolling basis while seats remain, though Georgian warns a program open when applied to may close before assessment.
