The Gas Turbine Technician certificate is a one-year, full-time program at SAIT delivered in-person at Main Campus across two semesters, requiring 30 credits over 10 courses. The program provides hands-on training in inspecting, repairing, and maintaining gas turbine engines used in both the aviation and industrial sectors, combining classroom theory with practical shop-based instruction. Students work with the tools, components, and maintenance procedures used by technicians who service gas turbine engines in commercial and industrial settings. The program accepts international applicants and currently meets the field of study requirement for the Post-Graduation Work Permit (PGWP). On completion, graduates receive a SAIT Gas Turbine Technician certificate and are prepared for technician roles servicing gas turbine engines. Graduates are prepared to work as gas turbine technicians for airlines, maintenance, repair and overhaul organizations, and industrial power generation employers.
