Overview

This master's program in knowledge mobilization and transfer trains specialists in collaborative and partnership-based research, preparing graduates to work at the interface of social research and public action. It is organized around two thematic streams: Social Bonds, covering family solidarity, youth transition, immigration, and social movements; and Cultural Fields, covering arts ecosystems, cultural policy, and digital transformation. The program totals 45 credits and includes an internship and a capstone essay, leading to a Maitre es arts (M.A.). It is offered in Quebec City and Montreal, with some courses delivered by videoconference. Three study paths are available: an intensive full-time option completed in one year, a regular full-time option completed in two years, and a part-time option completed in four years. Admission is offered for the fall, winter, and summer terms. Entry follows a bachelor's degree in the humanities or social sciences, or equivalent knowledge, with a cumulative average of at least 3.2 out of 4.3, and applicants must identify a thesis supervisor who agrees to the application.

Admission Requirements: Applicants must hold a bachelor's degree or the equivalent in the humanities or social sciences, or possess the necessary equivalent knowledge, with a cumulative average of at least 3.2 out of 4.3. Applicants must identify a thesis supervisor and obtain that supervisor's agreement before applying, and must submit a curriculum vitae and a motivation letter of up to 2,000 words. Sufficient spoken and written French is required, along with written comprehension of English.
