Overview
Cette formation courte et pratique prépare au service de salle à manger : vente de mets, de boissons et de vins à l'aide d'un logiciel de point de vente, contrôle des aliments et des boissons, organisation de la cuisine, approche client et langage culinaire. Les apprentissages se concrétisent par des exercices en laboratoire, des stages en milieu de travail et la mise en application des compétences au restaurant-école Lise Bourgeois, ouvert au public. Les personnes diplômées peuvent faire carrière au Canada comme à l'international et acquièrent les quatre compétences distinctives des diplômés de La Cité.

Admission Requirements: Before starting classes, students must provide an up-to-date immunisation record. Domestic entry otherwise follows La Cité's general secondary-school route: the Ontario Secondary School Diploma (OSSD) or equivalent, the Quebec DES, or the New Brunswick DES, in each case or success in La Cité's mature-applicant test for candidates of 19 or over without a diploma. The programme states no further course prerequisites and no programme-specific language-test score. La Cité's institution-wide language-test page sets a minimum of 375 points (written comprehension) on the TCF or 352 points on the TEF for applicants who must demonstrate French competency by test. International applicants qualify by holding a baccalaureate or secondary diploma, or by being in their final year of secondary school with proof of enrolment; La Cité states admission is competitive because of limited capacity and never guaranteed even when every published requirement is met.
