The Master of Education (MEd) at Lakehead University is offered through two fields of study: Educational Studies, and Education for Change, the latter offering specializations in Environmental and Sustainability Education, Indigenous Education, and Social Justice Education. Full-time students normally complete all requirements within six terms of continuous registration, equivalent to two years; flex-time students are allowed up to twelve terms, or four years. Admission requires an acceptable three- or four-year bachelor's degree together with a Bachelor of Education or equivalent, each with at least second-class (B) standing, or two years of professional experience combined with a minimum B average in a four-year bachelor's degree or equivalent. Courses are offered both on campus and online, with delivery at the Thunder Bay and Orillia campuses as well as fully online. Intakes are offered in the Fall, Winter, and Spring/Summer terms.
