Program details
Overview
Langara College's Chemistry Associate of Science Degree is a university-transfer credential spanning introductory chemistry through second-year university-level coursework, including analytical, organic, inorganic, and physical chemistry. Students study in well-equipped laboratories under dedicated instructors, with smaller class sizes than typically found at a large university. The program takes a minimum of two years to complete on a full-time or part-time basis, with intakes in September, January, and May. Coursework is designed to transfer into second- and third-year Chemistry and related science programs at universities such as SFU, UBC, and UVic. The combination of lower tuition rates and close faculty contact is intended to prepare students for the laboratory and theoretical demands of upper-level chemistry study before they move on to a four-year degree or further science-related education.
