Overview
This part-time, fully online short certificate walks students through five courses structured around the classic project lifecycle — initiating, planning, executing, monitoring and controlling, and closing — following a PMI-authorized PMP Exam Prep curriculum built on the PMBOK Guide. Alongside technical topics like scope, budget, timeline, and risk management, the courses use real project case studies to examine why projects succeed or fail and build team leadership and interpersonal skills for people who lead or contribute to projects in the private sector, government, or non-profit organizations. It runs a minimum of four months with January, May, and September starts, and completion satisfies the 35 hours of formal project management education PMI requires before sitting the PMP exam, making it a practical stepping stone toward that and other PMI credentials. BC residents may also be eligible for provincial skills-training funding that offsets part of the program's cost.
