Overview
Law and Justice at Laurentian University is a Bachelor of Arts program that examines the historical development of law and its relationship to economic, social, and political conditions, rather than providing professional legal training. The program offers interdisciplinary study of legal and judicial institutions, encouraging critical analysis of how and why laws are created and applied. It is available as a 120-credit Honours degree or a 90-credit General degree, and can also be completed as a specialization, major, minor, or concentration. The program is delivered on campus. Coursework covers the history of law, legal institutions, and the social and political context of legal systems. Graduates are prepared for further study, including law school, or for careers in fields such as public policy, criminal justice, government, and social services.
