Program details

Overview

This pre-university Diplôme d'études collégiales (DEC) at Marianopolis College is delivered over two years and four semesters and combines coursework across the sciences, social sciences, and humanities rather than committing to a single disciplinary stream. Students take mathematics including differential and integral calculus and linear algebra, natural sciences such as physics, chemistry, and biology, social sciences including economics and psychology, English literature, and humanities courses examining science, worldviews, and ethics, with electives in studio art and creative workshops. Students who hold a certificate of eligibility for English instruction take French as a Second Language, while others take French Literature courses. The program suits students with strong science and mathematics backgrounds who want to explore connections across disciplines before committing to a specific field at university. Graduates go on to university programs in the sciences, social sciences, humanities, business, and fine arts, and the program is also cited as a pathway into professional fields such as architecture, dentistry, engineering, law, medicine, psychology, and physical or occupational therapy.

Requirements

Minimum GPA: 85.00 / %
Admission Requirements: Admission to the Arts and Sciences program requires a Quebec Diploma of Secondary Studies or its equivalent. Applicants need Secondary V Mathematics TS or Mathematics SN, with a minimum grade of 83% in both Secondary IV and V Mathematics TS or SN. The combined Science and Mathematics average must reach at least 85%, and the overall Secondary V average must be at least 85%. A letter of intent is also required. English and French language proficiency are assessed as set out in Marianopolis College's general entrance requirements: applicants completing secondary school outside Canada with fewer than three years of English instruction must submit an external English test, accepted scores being TOEFL iBT 90 (minimum 21 per section), IELTS Academic 6.5, or Cambridge C1 Advanced/C2 Proficiency at grade C or better; applicants without a Certificate of Eligibility for English-language education and educated outside Quebec must instead sit a French proficiency test (DELF B2 67/100, TCF 467/699, or TEF 467/699).

Application Details

Application Deadline: Domestic applicants apply directly to Marianopolis through its own Omnivox portal rather than SRAM. As published on the college's site, the Fall 2026 intake's online application was open with a deadline of 1 March 2026, and late applications are reviewed only after on-time files, and only if space remains; the site had not yet posted Fall 2027 dates as of 14 September 2026. International (temporary-resident) applicants were urged to apply by 15 February 2026 because of immigration-document processing times, with no international application accepted after 1 March 2026. Admission is not rolling: both streams run to a firm deadline, with limited late acceptance once on-time files are cleared. These are institution-wide dates; this programme publishes no deadline of its own.
