Science, Honours Pure and Applied is a diploma in Natural Sciences programme taught at Marianopolis College in Westmount, Canada. The programme runs for 2 years. Tuition for international students is CAD 17,244 per year (CAD 8,160 per year for local students).
This pre-university Diplôme d'études collégiales (DEC) at Marianopolis College is an Honours variant of the college's Pure and Applied Science program, covering the same core mathematics, chemistry, physics, and biology curriculum at a faster pace, with additional topics and more challenging problem sets. Honours-specific courses place particular emphasis on science communication, and students are assigned a faculty mentor who advises on academic planning, research opportunities, and a required comprehensive assessment project. The cohort is kept smaller than the regular science stream, and students take part in professional laboratory visits and seminars led by practicing scientists and educators. To remain in the Honours profile, students must maintain a minimum overall average as well as a higher minimum average in mathematics and science courses. Admission is more selective than the regular Science program, requiring higher secondary-level grades and a letter of intent. The program suits high-achieving students seeking a more intensive science preparation before university. Graduates typically continue into university studies in chemistry, computer science, engineering, mathematics, physics, and related disciplines.

Admission Requirements: Admission to Honours Pure and Applied Science requires a Quebec Diploma of Secondary Studies or its equivalent, Secondary V Chemistry, Secondary V Physics, and Secondary V Mathematics TS or Mathematics SN, plus a letter of intent. Secondary IV and V Mathematics TS or SN must each be passed at a minimum of 80%, the combined Science and Mathematics average must reach at least 90%, and the overall average must be at least 83%; students must maintain averages of 82% overall and 87% in Science and Mathematics courses to keep Honours status. English and French proficiency during application follow Marianopolis College's general entrance requirements: an external English test is required only for applicants who completed secondary school outside Canada with fewer than three years of English instruction, with accepted scores of TOEFL iBT 90 (minimum 21 per section), IELTS Academic 6.5, or Cambridge C1 Advanced/C2 Proficiency at grade C; applicants without a Certificate of Eligibility educated outside Quebec must instead sit a French proficiency test (DELF B2 67/100, TCF 467/699, or TEF 467/699).
Application Details
Start Date:Fall
Application Deadline:Domestic applicants apply directly to Marianopolis through its own Omnivox portal rather than SRAM. As published on the college's site, the Fall 2026 intake's online application was open with a deadline of 1 March 2026, and late applications are reviewed only after on-time files, and only if space remains; the site had not yet posted Fall 2027 dates as of 14 September 2026. International (temporary-resident) applicants were urged to apply by 15 February 2026 because of immigration-document processing times, with no international application accepted after 1 March 2026. Admission is not rolling: both streams run to a firm deadline, with limited late acceptance once on-time files are cleared. These are institution-wide dates; this programme publishes no deadline of its own.
